April 2008 - Driven by the relentless desire to provide clients with sensational results, PULP has broadened its spectrum of capabilities to include ultraviolet coating on printed documents.
PULP's recently acquired Duplo Ultra UV Coater tops off the printed page with a protective UV-curable clear coating. As ultraviolet light energy hardens the coating, it toughens the page and covers it with the client's choice of a dazzling flip-the-switch finish, from satin to matte to glossy.
Everything brightens under the shine. "It gives a great visual effect," relates Erik Jones, manager of the newly revamped PULP Digital Department. "This level of gloss can't be achieved with paper alone, no matter what type of paper you run. The final product is impressive and, in our market, completely unrivaled."
PULP's heavy equipment is expected to spark considerable interest with its myriad of applications for digital and offset printing. Options include book covers, calendars, posters, displays, brochures, mailers, business cards and more. The Duplo prints from 1,300 to 6,200 sheets per hour depending on stock thickness (80 lb. text to 130 lb. cover) and size (20" x 28" max).
Ride our wave.
